EWA – The E-Waste Agency – aims at finding a sustainable and eco-friendly solution to the problem of electronic waste. It is an independent organization established by large scale industries, industrial associations, government bodies and NGOs. For the time being the focus of its activities is on Bangalore. However, the agency hopes to function as a role model for the setting up of similar associations in other parts of India.
Declaration of Intent
The 'Declaration of Intent' is a 'voluntary but binding charter' in which the signing parties agreed to set up a nodal agency to facilitate an 'eco-friendly, financially viable and socially acceptable WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) management system for Bangalore'.
